Pool and Swim Team
The North Forke pool facility provides an enjoyable environment for all members of the family. The pool deck offers plenty of room for sunbathing and relaxing, and the cabana provides covered shelter with picnic tables and an outdoor open fireplace. Lifeguards are on duty during most of the pool season. Check out the Pool Rules & Information, below . Next season's schedule will be published in April. The pool and cabana are accessed only with an electronic key FOB. If you are a North Forke resident and do not have a FOB key, please contact Eleanor Burris, HMS, at 770-667-0595.
North Forke's swim team, the Barracudas, has completed a very successful first competitive season culminating with 11 swimmers competing in individual events and an additional 24 swimmers participating in relay events at the championship meet. At the championship meet, which was held at the olympic pool at GA Tech, the top 50 swimmers in each age group were invited to compete.
The Barracudas team is looking for additional swimmers, both inside and outside of the North Forke subdivision. The greatest shortage is in the 15-18 age group, although swimmers of all ages are needed. While swimming is obviously the main focus of a swim team, it is by no means the only focus. The friendships that are built between neighbors who otherwise may not have known one another are certainly the greatest by-product of having a swim team.
Many of the visiting teams to North Forke Plantation have commented on the beautiful facilities, as well as the unrivaled way the team is run. This is completely a result of North Forke's first rate coaches and the numerous volunteers who spend countless hours each week making sure each meet is a success.
